Meet Mary Taylor
Hi, I'm Mary
I help couples, families, and friends celebrate life’s most important moments by combining my love for storytelling with a commitment to creating ceremonies that are meaningful, personal, and unforgettable…
My passion is turning your unique stories and wishes into ceremonies that feel genuine and heartfelt, listening closely to what matters most to you and weaving those details into every part of your celebration. Whether you dream of a relaxed gathering, a ceremony steeped in tradition with your own twist, or something entirely original, I’m dedicated to making it feel authentic and truly yours.
When I’m not officiating, you’ll find me hiking through nature, experimenting with new recipes, or singing my heart out—always with a sense of adventure and a sprinkle of fun
What inspired you to become a celebrant?
I’ve always been drawn to storytelling and human connection. After attending a beautifully personal wedding ceremony years ago, I realised how powerful a well-crafted ceremony can be. That moment sparked something in me, and I knew I wanted to help others celebrate life’s milestones in a heartfelt and authentic way.
What do you love most about being a celebrant?
The people. Every couple, family, or individual I work with brings their own story, energy, and vision. I love helping them bring that to life in a way that feels true to who they are. Seeing the joy, laughter, and sometimes tears during a ceremony is incredibly rewarding.
Can you share a memorable moment from a ceremony you’ve conducted?
One of my most memorable ceremonies was a wedding where the couple included their dog. The dog joined in throughout the ceremony and stole everyone’s heart. Such joyful, light-hearted moments that perfectly reflected the couple’s personality.
What makes your approach unique?
I take a friendly, collaborative approach to every ceremony. It’s not just about writing a script, it’s about getting to know you: your story, your quirks, your hopes, and what makes you smile. I love creating a space where you feel heard, supported, and totally at ease. My goal is to make the whole experience feel like a joyful conversation, not a formal performance, so you can relax, be yourself, and enjoy every moment.
Are there any special skills or experiences you bring to your ceremonies?
I have a background in leading events, public speaking, engaging with people, which helps me create ceremonies that are both beautifully written and confidently delivered. I’m also trained in inclusive practices, so I ensure every ceremony is welcoming and respectful of all backgrounds and beliefs.
What’s your favourite type of ceremony to conduct, and why?
I love weddings that blend tradition with personal touches, like handfasting, storytelling, or cultural rituals. There’s something incredibly touching about celebrating every stage of life.
How do you ensure each ceremony is personal and meaningful?
I start with a conversation, lots of them, actually! I ask questions, listen deeply, and gather stories and details that reflect who you are. Then I weave those into a ceremony that feels like you, not a template, but a one-of-a-kind celebration.
Any fun facts or hobbies?
When I’m not officiating, I’m usually out walking, trying out new recipes, or travelling the world. I also love a bit of karaoke; give me a mic and some country music, and I’m all in!
As a Humanist UK-accredited celebrant, I bring warmth, joy, and a truly personal touch to every wedding and celebration event..
Known for my warm hearted, engaging, and collaborative approach, I work closely with each couple or family to create a ceremony that reflects their unique story, values, and personalities. Unmistakably yours
